Dylan's version of the song is an adaptation of the Thomas original, but Dylan's version is so different that the AR here should more correctly be along the lines of "greatly arranged and adapted". As for the lyrics, the only lines from the original "Just Allow Me One More Chance" which survive in this version are near the end: "Just-a one kind favour I ask of you, Allow me just-a one more chance". Some lyrics originally from "Take a Whiff On Me" and "Cocaine Blues" also appear in this version.
