Title: Nilsson (like others at the time in and around Darmstadt, cf. Stockhausen, Goeyvaerts) numbered his early works “No. 1—17”. These numbers preceding the generic descriptive (but not lyrical) titles are a means to break romanticism by Sachlichkeit, thus should not be treated per CSG as opus numbers.
