"The Fast Song" was first recorded June 1, 1977, and worked on extensively for four months until Springsteen imported the first verse of "Candy's Boy", now calling it "New Fast Song" (Sept 27). The track would not be completed until March 5, 1978, when "Candy's Room" was ready for Darkness.
