My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy (July 9, 2010 "recordforhype.zip" demo)

Originated as "recordforhype.zip," an encrypted & password-protected compressed folder emailed to director Hype Williams' management (presumably to review for his Runaway short film in production at the time). The file was sent on July 9, 2010 and accessed by an unauthorized message board user later that year.

Despite earnest 2010, 2011, 2013, and 2017 attempts, the file remained uncracked until July 26, 2020 (slightly over 10 years). Earlier in the month, various reddit & 4chan communities began to spin up hacking efforts. These proved fruitless as a 4chan user dropped the master password "wewantmoney" in an anonymous post, commenting only in passing that the music "sucked." The remaining passwords were cracked or guessed by the community within six hours.

This early version of the album has numerous changes from the final version.
