Teddy Pendergrass & Friends: Soul Box

~ Release by Teddy Pendergrass & Friends (see all versions of this release, 2 available)

Annotation

"& Friends" tracks may also be rerecordings!

From allmusic:
"Credit the Cleopatra label for at least notifying potential buyers that the songs here are not the originals but "new and rare versions." That should be enough to prompt avoidance. While this is a various artists compilation that includes performances from a number of '70s soul artists, it's billed to "Teddy Pendergrass & Friends," which is both misleading and presumptuous. (Perhaps TP had no strong opinion of George McCrae, or considered him merely an acquaintance or peer.) Even when the performances are OK, the recordings are inferior to the originals. Another bad sign is that one of the tracks is credited to a "Teddy Pendergras."
