Hit (slipcase, Deutsche Ausgabe)

~ Release by Peter Gabriel (see all versions of this release, 9 available)

Annotation

German version of the UK release with a slightly different tracklisting.

Typos and differences to UK version:
Track 1-15 should read "Jetzt Kommt Die Flut" in correct German spelling.
Track 2-02 is the German lyrics version of 'Not One Of Us' instead of 'No Self-Control' on the UK release.
Track 2-05 should read "Kontakt!" in correct German spelling and is the German lyrics version of the song "I Have The Touch".
Track 2-07 is the German lyrics version of 'Lay Your Hands On Me' instead of 'D.I.Y.' on the UK release.
Track 2-08 of the UK release 'A Different Drum' is skipped on this German version.
Track 2-14 is the German lyrics version of 'Family Snapshot' instead of 'Washing Of The Water' on the UK release. The correct German spelling should read 'Schnappschuß (Ein Familienfoto)' with the German ligature letter 'ß' instead of the letter 'b'.

Comment discogs:
Despite recording the entire third and fourth LP "auf Deutsch" as well as "Jetzt Kommt Die Flut" as a B-side to "Biko" and other singles; the track list here is in German, but the majority of the songs are in English. Just four German language versions are found on the "Miss" CD - "Not One Of Us", "I Have The Touch", "Lay Your Hands On Me" and "Family Snapshot", but only English vocals exist on the "Hit" disc; leaving off the German versions of "The Rhythm Of The Heat", "Shock The Monkey", "Games Without Frontiers", "Biko" and "Here Comes The Flood" (which I was hoping for since it's previously only been available on vinyl and the "Flotsam And Jetsam" download). A missed opportunity by the record label to issue a complete / accurate "Deutsche Ausgabe" compilation on CD.
