Agora SA (Polish media group, read annotation before using as imprint or distributor)

Polish media conglomerate which also served as an imprint (main label) for releases with the "Agora SA" logo appearing on cover-art until the mid-2010's, when that role was taken over by its more specialized subsidiaries. Before adding new releases, please make sure whether it really is the imprint and isn't merely mentioned on company-specific credits only.
On physical media, double-check the printed artwork for further info (such as the logo of the appropriate imprint). For digital releases that lack such info, whose API (as used by importer scripts) often return the name of the larger Agora group (or another daughter company which in MB terms should only be used for company credits), consider that at least three businesses of the group acted as music imprints in various periods:
- Wydawnictwo Agora - Primarily a books' publishing house which also acted as a music label until 2019.
- Agora Muzyka - Founded in 2019 as a dedicated music label, taking over all music-related activities from the former.
- Next Music - Rebranding of the former after it was acquired by NEXT FILM (another arm of the Agora group) no earlier than July 2025.
"Agora SA" is also the designation that some digital music vendors report as the distributor (most notably the primary label info on the Tidal API). This role should be credited to the following two distributors instead:
- Agora Digital Music - was active alongside the former two of the aforementioned imprints until 2025.
- Next Music Digital - started out in 2025 after going through the same rebranding as its sister company Agora Muzyka.
Other businesses of the Agora group that are also relevant for the MusicBrainz platform:
- Gazeta Wyborcza - Polish daily newspaper which occasionally promoted and distributed music releases from the late 1990's until the early 2010's.
- Agora Książka i Muzyka Sp. z o.o. - Formed in 2023 to re-structure the pre-existing businesses in the publishing (books) and music sector. Use it only for company credits.
- Next Film Sp. z o.o. - Other than the aforementioned fact of having acquired Agora's music labels in 2025, it also plays a role in the release of soundtracks for the movies it produces and distributes.
