Annotation
Yeats originally titled his poem "An Old Song Re-Sung" (apparently in reference to an old traditional song upon which it was based) when it was first published in The Wanderings of Oisin and Other Poems in 1889. It first appeared under its present title when it was reprinted in Poems in 1895.
