Annotation

A cassette-only release of science fiction/filk songs by Filk Hall of Fame performers Barry & Sally Childs-Helton. Some tracks from this album were reengineered for the later CD album TEMPUS FUGITIVES. Space Opera House also published a songbook for PARADOX. The title is a pun on the fact that by the time this album was recorded, both Barry and Sally had earned PhDs ("pair o' Docs"). Recorded in Dolby (tm) 8-track stereo at Hit City Studios (707 E. 54th Street, Indianapolis, IN 46220), August-September 1989. Duplicated at Alshire International. * "Motel of the Mysteries" is the title of a 1979 book of satiric illustration on an archaeological theme, by David Macaulay; though his work inspired the lyrics, he need not take the blame for them.
** "The War-of-the-Worlds Top-40 Radio Musical of 1963" was first performed by the Con-Dells at Ohio Valley Filk Fest IV, 10/31/88.
*** Lines spoken by character voices in "Moose and Squirrel" are quoted from (and/or based on) episodes of "Rocky and His Friends," which are copyright 1962 by Jay Ward Productions.
