Arielle, die Meerjungfrau: Österreichische Original-Filmmusik (Austrian soundtrack)

~ Release by Alan Menken, Howard Ashman und Frank Lenart (see all versions of this release, 5 available)

Annotation

This release features the Austrian dubbing, which came out the same year as the second German dubbing (1998) and shares some of the cast with it. The tracks are all identical to the German CD, except track 6 and 13, which are performed by Caroline Vasicek (on track 13 Vasicek only performs Ariel's spoken vocals, not her vocalisation). This is rather unexpected, as Vasicek voiced Ariel and performed all of her songs in the Austrian dubbing and her voice can be heard on the Austrian home video releases from 1998 and 2006. This means that she is credited not only for track 6 but also 10 and 13 (Ariel's vocalization), which is untrue, as it is in fact Naomi van Dooren who performed Ariel's part in both of them. It's also worth noting that the tracks are presented in a strictly chronological order, whereas the original English soundtrack (as well as most of its internationally dubbed versions) use a different track ordering, placing the songs first and then the instrumental tracks (with the only exception being the 2014 Legacy Collection reissue).
