CD matrix scheme:

“X” = year of matrix manufacturing
A=2014, B=2015, C=2016, D=2017, E=2018, F=2019, G=2020, H=2021
"Y" = month of matrix manufacturing:
1-9=January-September, A=October, B=November, C=December

Mastering SID is IFPI LD02
Mould SID is IFPI 5Jxx
Some CD releases, dating from 2001 to present, use the Laser Beam Recorder codes in place of the usual IFPI SID codes. These often being LBR DF01 and DFM10. These are not made in Loděnice.

The GZ Media plant in Loděnice stopped CD/DVD manufacturing in September 2021. Since then, any CDs or DVDs are either manufactured by SNA in France (owned by GZ Media) or brokered out to another plant in the Czech Republic (LBR DFxx).

Vinyl Identification

Vinyls made by GZ Media have a characteristic code stamped (or machine-etched) into the runout:
######X~/Z (e.g. 244898E1/A)

“######” = 6 digits ... internal number
“X” = letter ... format (see below)
“~” = 1 or 2 digits ... side number
“Z” = letter or letter+digit ... version identifier

/Z may be missing on external cuts. New records may also have 6-7 digits long serial numbers (IDs) of nickel mothers, e.g. 1041885.

Vinyl formats:

• E = stereo, 12", 33⅓ RPM
• F = stereo, 10", 33⅓ RPM
• H = stereo, 7", 45 RPM
• M = stereo, 12", 45 RPM
• N = stereo, 10", 45 RPM
• O = stereo, 7", 33⅓ RPM
• X = stereo, 78 RPM

The letters A to D and V denoted mono records (made by predecessor Gramofonové závody) and are no longer used because GZ Media does not produce real mono records, only stereo cuts with identical audio on both channels.
