Joey Riot

Joey Riot is a British DJ and producer who emerged from Scotland's underground rave scene to become a prominent figure in UK hardcore. Born and raised near Glasgow, Joey began his musical journey at age 13 learning guitar and piano before becoming immersed in rave culture during the acid house movement. At fifteen, he co-founded the underground event "THE TECHNOZONE" (later renamed "TLM - The Lethal Mix") with friend Darren Grant, initially serving as MC while developing his DJ skills. Moving to England in 2003 to pursue hardcore production more seriously, Joey established himself in the scene after gaining his first release "Wide Awake" on Hardcore Collections in 2005.

Joey can boast being on nearly every single UK Hardcore compilation since 2005 and has released a string of successful and critically acclaimed albums of his own, with over 100 single releases in his discography. He has released tracks on numerous respected labels including HCC, Relentless, Quosh, Maximum Impact, Next Generation, FBI, and Redemption. His work has been featured on major hardcore compilation albums such as Hardcore Heaven volumes 1, 2 and 3, Hardcore Nation 2, 100% Hardcore, and Hardcore Reunited. Joey co-founded Lethal Theory with Kurt, which became known as "The World's Number 1 Hardcore Label," releasing successful compilation albums including the "Hardcore Innovators" series. His notable releases include albums such as "Maximum Quality Achieved," "Sweet-Ass Hardcore Mix," and contributions to "Bonkers 17: Rebooted."
